Scott Webster
Scott is a fully qualified Winter Mountaineering and Climbing Instructor and IPGA certified International Polar Guide.
Scott’s Polar career began in 2011 when he joined the British Antarctic Survey (BAS) as a Field Guide. Scott over wintered at Rothera Research Station twice (2012 and 2014), and undertook six summer field seasons. During this time he coordinated the safety and logistics of deep field scientific projects throughout the continent and is also the author of BAS’s Field Operations Manual. In 2017 Scott joined the team at Antarctic Logistics & Expeditions (ALE) as a mountain and ski guide. He has successfully guided several ascents of Antarctica’s highest mountain; Mount Vinson, led last degree ski expeditions to the South Pole and managed the safety at remote camps on sea ice.
In the Arctic Scott has guided many mountaineering and skiing expeditions within East Greenland and provided snowmobile logistics support to numerous private and corporate expeditions.
In 2023 Scott guided a team to the summit of Mount Everest via the South Col.
Scott is an industrial rope access technician and occasionally applies his skills to the renewable sector in the inspection and maintenance of offshore wind turbines. When not working in the Polar Regions Scott provides climbing, mountaineering and ski guiding/instruction in the Highlands of Scotland.
